HELP

Hi Guys, i am baffled by my heater system. When i got the car it had a home made thermostat housing, with no thermostat and it was basically just a steel elbow.
During the restoration i bought a housing and thermo cap from speedy spares and a water pump too. it all fitted perfect, but i am at a loss as to how the heater pipes are routed. My car has a heated inlet manifold and at present the rear of the inlet manifold connects to the heater and the other heater pipe connects to the front of the manifold. This cannot be right!!
I can see there is a blanking plug in my water pump, and from the diagrams i can find it appears that there should be an elbow screwed in there. the heater pipe (i think) should go from here to the front of the manifold, and the rear is correct.................but where does the return pipe go???
It appears to head back towards the water pump... but to where???
any photos or advice would be very helpful.
Ta
David

This is the way mine is setup.
But I have a cast iron head, so it might be different if you are using an aluminum head.

I am missing the y piece adaptor which screws into the water pump. Does anyone have one spare??? Maybe on an old water pump you have lying around :?:
