Mk3 has a slight misfire. Any Ideas

Hi Steve, try contacting the original owner, see if he has any clues. I'd check all the ignition bits and pieces first, easy enough to change for new ones. Rotor arm and distributor cap, the leads, the spark plugs and the condensor.
Did this just come on, or did it slowly develop?

Hi, Check out all the electrical, Points, Plugs, leads etc. and if that is not the problem, you will probably find its down to the carbs being out of balance.
the most common reason for this is that the connecting shaft screw between the carbs has come loose, which means that one carb is always at idle
whilst the other opens.

Sorted. Faulty plug lead. Driving great now. Going to use it as a daily driver now. Might sell if the right buyer came along. More than happy to keep it and do the shows this year
