Just tried to change out the choke cable on Myn...

whoever routed it the way they have inthe car needs lining up against a wall and shooting !!!!

seemed to have half the dash out just to get my hands to it, even getting the glovebox cardboard out had me beat....

guess its time for a proper workshop manual,

I left a message for you on the other forum forgetting my uncle only posts on this one, but you could try PMing him to see if he can email you the relevant pages from his manual. It is rather irritating finding bodge Jobs, I always say if your going to do a job, do it right or not at all.

wasnt so muchit had been bodged segs... was just the fact it bolts on from behind the centre console and that was where mine had broken, only realised it had snapped when I shoved the choke in one day, I always used to pull choke out fully and then push back to 1/2 inch to start course I pulled it right out, outer then seperated from the facia and when I cranked it it dumped enough fuel down the throat of the poor old girl to have it wee-ing out that little drain tube..

had a cable from a 63 mk1 knocking about so decided to put that on to keep it somewhere near original..
not a job I would like to repeat...

makes me wonder if that was why the choke was "broken" on the carb she had fitted when I got her and why the outer was siliconed into the bulkhead :(
