I have a temperamental Starter on my 1963 Scepter Mk1.
And I lost the crankstarter.
While sourcing for a replacementstarter,I was wondering if any of you folks out there could be kind enough to send me a drawing so that I can fabricate a crank starterbar?
Would really appreciate it as it would get the old girl out of embarassing situations.

Cheers!

Rusty nuts is right, they can be dangerous, but used with care the starter handle has got me out of trouble quite a few times. Make sure the electrical connection is clean and tight on your starter, Chong and also that the pinion is not dirty as it can cause the starter to stick sometimes. Of course I'm sure you know the way to free it is to put a spanner on the squared nut sticking out of the end of the starter. Another thing you can use the starting handle for is setting the points when you replace them.
All the best , Gary. 8)

Yes, I concur. It is dangerous if one doesn't know how to hanldle the 'kick'back. but like Gary says, it is a very helpful tool.
Especially when the exhaust manifold is still hot and the option is not to put my arm anywhere near the starter!
With a starter that's 47 years old, it is way overdue to be replaced although it has been repaired many times.
Any one knows where to locate a replacement unit?

Really appreciate all advices.
Cheers!
Chong

and obviously you NEVER put your thumb ROUND the handle ..
My mate Steve convinced me he could start my minx using the handle off his sceptre once
car backfired and he had thumb on other side of handle. broke his thumb and he wasnt very chuffed
