HI there - yes there is life on this forum . . . .

Re engine mountings - not sure what you mean by the 'U' shaped mounting? The engine in the Mk1 is located by 2 squarish rubber blocks bonded to flat metal plates - these sit either side of the engine at the front and bolt to the main crossmember. The other mounting is the one under the gearbox that bolts to a cross plate which in turn bolts to the floor of the car.

www.speedyspares.co.uk is the place to go:

They have front mounts to suit from chassis B3113972 on, at GB£10 a piece (part number 1218274)

They have both types of gearbox mount - part number 1207245 for cars up to chassis number B3120000 at GB£9.50, or part number 1218275 for cars chassis number B3120001 on at GB£10

If you want the earlier type front mounts then let me know as I've probably got some spares.

Hi there, Its sounds to me that engine rubbers mounts have an intermediate "u" shaped metal piece but not sure, if you asure me that the rubber mounts goes directly to the crossmember will be OK.

The sceptre I´m overhauling is one of the very early type with two zeniths carbs, which I mean Sceptre mkI A, ( the MKI B is the one with solex twin carb and the MKI C is the one with all syncromesh gearbox and flat tecalemit air filter)

Please let me know if you can help me with that.

Bets regards, Raul.
