Specification of the Singer Gazelle Saloon
Engine: Four-cylinder five-bearing crankshaft unit with push rod operated overhead valves. Zenith down-draught carburettor.
Bore and Stroke: 3.21 in. x 3.25 in. (81.5 mm. x 82.55 mm.).
Cubic capacity: 105.2 cu. in. (1,725 c.c).
Engine develops 62.5 maximum b.h.p. at 4,200 r.p.m. and maximum torque 98.5 lb. ft. at 2,200 r.p.m.
Compression ratio 8.4 : 1

Ignition: Coil and distributer; Centrifugal advance and retard mechanism, vacuum control. Champion N5 sparking plugs.

Cooling system: Centrifugal pump and fan; Thermostatic control. Coolant pressure fed to cylinder head with selective cooling of valve seats, stems and sparking plug bosses.

Clutch: 7 1/2 in. Borg and Beck diaphragm spring, Hydraulically operated by pendant pedal.

Gearbox: Four forward speeds and reverse with control ring synchromesh on all forward gears. A centre-floor gear change is fitted.

Rear axle: Hypoid semi-floating axle shafts to the rear wheels. Ratio: 3.89 : 1.
Overall ratios: Top 3.89 : 1, Third 5.413 : 1, Second 8.324 : 1, First 13.04 : 1, Reverse 13.88 : 1.

Chassis: Unitary construction of chassis and body provides exceptional strength and rigidity.

Front suspension: Fully independent front wheel suspension by means of swinging links and coil springs controlled by double acting hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers and a torsion bar sway eliminator fitted between the lower links. All greasing points have been eliminated.

Rear suspension: Semi-elliptic leaf springs with dual rate characteristics to suit load conditions. Double acting hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers maintain adequate control.

Wheels: Five pressed steel wheels with wide base rims. Four wheels are embellished with polished nave plates and wheel trim discs. Spare wheel held vertical in well on right-hand side of luggage compartment.

Tyres: Tubeless 6.00 x 13 in.

Brakes: Lockheed hydraulic, 10.3 in. disc brakes at front with 9 in. brake drums at rear. The handbrake operates through a system of cables and the linkage is independent of the footbrake.

Steering: Burman recirculating ball type. Three-piece symmetrical track rod linkage. No greasing points. Dished steering wheel with chromium-plated horn ring.

Petrol tank: 10 gallon capacity positioned beneath luggage compartment floor.

Standard equipment: Heating and ventilating equipment; screen washers; boot floor mat; two interior sun visors; overriders; fully reclining front seats.

Colour Schemes:

*The first named colour is the predominant colour, the second is the side flash.*
Dawn Mist/Charcoal. with Red upholstery. Foam White/Pippin Red. with Red upholstery. Silver Grey Metallic/Embassy Black with Black upholstery. Royal Blue Metallic/Dawn Mist. with Grey upholstery.	Holly Green/Willow Green. with Green upholstery. Silver Moss Metallic/Embassy Black. with Green upholstery. Maroon/Cavalry Beige. with Beige upholstery.

**SINGLE TONES.**
Embassy Black. with Red upholstery. Royal Blue Metallic. with Grey upholstery.	Lavender Grey Metallic. with Lilac upholstery.

Optional extras: The following extras are available ex-factory at extra cost and can only be specified at the time of placing the order:

Borg-Warner fully-automatic transmission. No system is simpler to handle or more completely automatic. Ask your Dealer for details.
Laycock-de-Normanville overdrive. On top and third gears, with convential transmission.
White-wall tyres.
