why so much belt trouble???
on my particular motor the inner sills are sort of diagonal in shape and the mounting points are flat on the floor, this was fine for the lap belts but naff for mounting inertias, (tried getting lap belts but they hideously expensive to get made (quoted 158 quid))
Quick PM to justanotherhigh on here saw a set of Hunter inertias winging its way to me and promptly into me hand....
ok enough waffle heres the pics...
this pic shows the huge inner sill and the floor mounting hole (sorry its so dusty it had hessian soundproofing !!!

So ideally I wanted the belts to hang on that blue bit of vynil out of the way of peoples feet like so many of the rootes inertia convertions I have seen..

quick flick through the steel rack at work and a forgiving and kind gaffer saw me furnished with some 50mm/8mm flat cold rolled bar
some gentle persuasion in the vice with the magic screwdriver (hammer) saw it to the right shape to fit into the sill thanks to CAD (cardboard aided design).. couple of holes ready for bolting in.. and I had a pair of fitting plates

first one went in easy as pie

the inertia sits nicely out the way as you get in and out and also gains me a few hundred mm of belt as well !!! so win win !!!

heres the other side done with the trim panel loosely back in place showing how neatly they fit,

Just need to see how the MOT man likes it now on wednesday when she goes for test.... ::)
