heater leever wanted

Post by mahogany101 » Thu Feb 18, 2010 8:33 pm

when i bought my humber mk1 1963 there was only one leever, the one on the left has snapped off. the motor does not seem that brilliant but i would like to get it how it should be. ive not took it to bits so i dont know if its a simple swap or the whole mechanism has to be changed. any help would be great.

I'm not sure if I have a lever but I can find out how it all works, from memory [although it's a long time since I took mine apart!] I think the lever has a cable attached to it which in turn connects to a rod on the side of the heater box. this opens and closes a valve inside to provide more or less heat. I'll see if I can look up the instructions in the workshop manual at the weekend, or you could try looking in the online manual on this site. All the best Gary. P.S. the motor never was that brilliant!

Hi Howard,

I have got a complete centre console in the garage which I think includes both heater controls, I'll have a look over the weekend and let you know.

I have got boxes of Sceptre parts that I got from a guy who had stripped down two MK1's so if theres anything else you or anybody else needs I would be happy to see if I can help, obviously no guarantee if the bits work or fit correctly.

Mine is a 1963 MK1.....fantastic..

All the best,

Steve

Steve, I was interested to know if you have an indicator switch for a mk1 also the safety catch for the bonnet. Please email back and let me know thanks, Gary. 8)
