Hi Humber fanatics,
Just spent a couple of days of my summer hols toiling on the wife's Clio and thought i would now relax by spending a few hours on my Sceptre!!.
Its an early 71 mk3 with an auto box,not sure if type 35 or 45,and i would like to change the gearbox oil but i dont have a handbook and the wsm doesnt mention any procedures to follow prior to/and during the job.
Also, the wsm recommends Castrol TQY? but i expect this is now obsolete so can anyone recommend an appropriate substitute?
I have never owned any motor with an autobox so any advice would be gratefully accepted.
Regards
Pete

Re: Auto box oil change
You just need the oil grades and you should be able to get it. Most Halfords have an auto clinic where they can get your specifications by registration, you might get lucky with the Sceptre as I got a BMW 2002 Cabroliet come up on the system before.

Re: Auto box oil change
Hi HUMBER FANS.
I changed the oil in my mk2 autobox whitch was only changeing 2 gears I drained the sump and then removed it. I then seen two filters removed them and cleaned with petrol and replaced and refilled with new auto oil to the correct level.
I now have all three gears, hope this helps.
