hi
any ideas of a engine to fit my car it has the 3sp auto box but i do have a 4spd box or would it be easier to swap to another engine gearbox it has to be automatic tho owing to disabilties any ideas out there
mike i want it to be daily driver thanks

What is wrong with the basic 1725? I'd be inclined to keep that with the autobox, and perhaps try and convert it to single carb if it was thirsty to run.

oh just getting fed up trying to get it running starter motor looks wrong a long shaft type rather than usual shape trying both starters all i get is clicks even with booster on so thats y thinking pop in a running engineturbinecol wrote:What is wrong with the basic 1725? hi, if the starter is just clicking then maybe the solenoid is up the duff, it might be clicking but is it connecting?
if you bridge the big terminals on the back of the solenoid with a lump of metal (big spanner works for me) does it make the starter spin then?? if it does then remote solenoid is easy cure !!!
starter is a standard lucas item fitted to hundreds of cars I would have thought, mine was about 35 quid from an autofactors.

yer thinking just swop everthing from m reg to g reg then update as m reg got green glass and loads of chrome but is a rust bucket [strange as as ziebarted from new] the 67/ 68 is sound and good paintwork just missing a few trim bits so if is a nuts and bolts to swap the engine trans then ok ill go do it
