Hello all,
My first post here, and I'm in need of some advice. I've got a 1966 Minx with a sickly water pump - rattly bearing, the fan can be rocked. Speedy Spares don't have any in, have been waiting for "a while" and don't know when they may get them. I don't have a press so I'm not sure I could rebuild mine without one, Speedy have spares. Is a press essential, or could suitable drifts do the job?
Short of that, if anyone has a decent second-hand one, I'd be glad to hear.
Or should I talk to a reconditioner?
It's my daily car so I'm keen to get it sorted.
Cheers all,
Bill

In theory I don't see why you can't do the job with drifts but it is not something I've ever tried - you will still need to obtain a new bearing and seal though . . .

Thanks for that, noted the parts place, not heard of them before.
I decided to get a whole pump, but Speedy are out and say they've been waiting a while and no idea when they'll get stock. Got one from Rootes Parts in Holland rootesparts.com, 3 days to arrive and not much more than Speedy's price too.
