Revcounter

I have a humber Sceptre 1963. and the rev counter is reading high, as in twice as high, is this a common problem, any ideas????

hi i had the same trouble with my mk2 sceptre, i fitted a small one so i know whats going on with the engine. cheers rich

Hiya. If your rev counter is the electrical type you should find looking at the back four screws from memory the ones at two o/clock and eight o/clock hold the case on..... the other two hold the "inerds" remove the case and you should find in the top left an ajusting screw..... you will of course need some refernce speeed use a strobe light with revs capability and if yours is outajust a little at a time untill you get best possible you may find revs good at 2-3000 but out above and below ajust to suite your preference and enjoy.....!
