RESTORATION WANTED!!

Post by Sceptre girl » Wed Apr 11, 2007 5:42 pm

I have a 1965 Humber Sceptre (1592cc) sitting in the garage and I would love to get it restored. The last MOT ran out in 1982, the same year I was born.

Does anybody know how I could go about this? There is no way I could do it myself so I am looking for somewhere that would be able to do this for me...

Any ideas or suggestions appreciated!

You could start by making a few phone calls to local repair garages, they could point you in the right direction.Doing a resto through a garage can cost a fortune, you could do it a bit at a time.depends on how far the cars gone rust wise etc.I had the bottoms welded all around and that alone cost a grand, thats without the price of the panels.

Wow! That's a lot! Thanks for telling me that Robbo!
I hadn't expected it to be cheap but now I shall definitely think carefully about how much I'd be willing to spend on it...
Also I can't really assess what would need doing because the car is in Swansea and I'm in London. It will have to wait!
