Identification by chassis number

Post by serialnumberplate » Mon Feb 17, 2014 11:09 am

Hi everyone!
My name is Oleksii.
Can you help to identify Humber Sceptre by chassis number (year, version, engine)?
Chassis number: L3090849605
Type: 090 Q-3
Service code: QGBH
Paint code: 160
Trim code: 721

Chassis number: R5ABE6L112711
Service number: L6090 112711
Service code: QCCH
Paint: PWB
Trim code: TML

Thank you in advance!

1973 Linwood built Humber Sceptre Mark 3
QGBH is a 1725 high compression, 3.89:1 manual with overdrive, servo brakes, home market RHD (ie: typical spec Sceptre)
Code 160 is Tango Metallic (dark bronze)
721 is black opalescent

Not quite so sure about the R5 number (body code possibly), but the chassis number looks to be L6, so
Linwood, 1976
QCCH = 1725 high compression, 3.70:1 with auto, servo brakes and radio, Heavy duty suspension (bit odd that)

PWB is Polar White (code 108 I think) - see this for more info: http://www.imps4ever.info/misc/colours_talbot.html
TML, not sure on that one

Thank you very much! Is there a website with complete step by step decoding?

Unfortunately, haven't found anything yet...
Should you have an opportunity to make a photo or scan - please, post it here.
Again, thank you for your help.

Thank you, I've visited this resource.
I was hoping that in parts book there will be complete model decoding, for example, for the 090 Q3 model code.
