Hi from another UK Hunter (Arrow) owner

Post by Nomad » Sun Aug 10, 2014 10:56 pm

Hi folks,
I've been using a '72 Hunter (Arrow) for about 5 years, found this forum a few months ago and thought it was about time I joined up :)

As the car is in regular use, it's had a lot of time and effort spent keeping it in good working order but very little on polishing it up
On the plus side, the "from-new" waxoly rustproofing + oil leaks from just about everywhere have done a great job of protecting the chassis :D

One thing I've not found yet on here - is there a sales & wanted section, or how do I list any spare bits I have (NOS Rootes wing, Alloy 1725 motor, set of Scepter headlights, set of 4 good used Sceptre Estate doors etc...)

many thanks

Welcome from another Hunter owner (I have a Sceptre 3 as well, which is eternally up on ramps, so the Hunter is the one I use and learn most from Arrow wise)

'72 Hunter is a sweetspot I reckon - still got the nice early bumpers, but with some of the first refresh parts, mechanical updates and so on. Later cars like my 76 machine have even more advances, but they were starting to feel dated among their competitors, and the transatlantic touches were getting a bit OTT.

What spec is it?

Parts wise, maybe just start a separate thread.

Are the headlights Lucas sealed beam by any chance rather than pattern? Would be quite interested if that were the case. Thanks
