Air filter mark 2 1967

Post by Zip » Mon Aug 25, 2014 9:33 am

I am searching for one of these. The original was a disposable wetted pad type. Does anyone know where I can purchase an original one or a suitable replacement I do not want to fit a different air-box. K & N offer a cut to fit unit at £75.00 but I would rather not.
I bought my Sceptre a couple of weeks ago as I used to have one back in the mid seventies and it has always been my most favourite car. more style and shape than any other.

They are not made anymore, so you'll be lucky to find one. I replaced mine with cooker hood foam. That seems to work OK. Similar to this one: -

Thank you for the tip. Please tell me what oil do you use in your gearbox/overdrive unit? My workshop manual gives an obsolete Shell engine oil.
Just 4 your info. I am in the throws of fitting a 123 Electronic ignition distributor. I will post the results after some road tests.

For rear axle I use Shell Spirax S2 G 80-90 - it's the modern equivalent of the listed Spirax, I don't have overdrive as my car is automatic. Plenty on eBay: -

For electronic ignition did you look at Accuspark, I've been thinking of doing the same?
