Hi Guys.
well the nightmare of the windscreen is finally over.
It turned out to be the new seal after all. so a word of warning..do not buy a screen seal from alpine spares...they dont fit!!
I finally got one from speedyspares after they had a small batch commissioned for them ,and i waited around 3 months
it was a perfect fit and the windscreen guys popped it back in for me today in about 5 minutes. All the trim went back on fine and i sealed it too.
i am well chuffed it is finally on the road and i took it out for a little drive round the village today for the first time since the rebuild.
I had almost given up on it ,but it is a big relief to see it finally finished. I fitted the new chrome wiper blades (thanks nippa) and i have a new pair of door mirrors to go on.













i am undecided whether to keep it or not now as i have my eye on a 2.8 capri

David, I just wanted to say how impressed I am with the great work that you did on restoring this car!
I have been following your posts and just wanted to say Great job!
It's been a pleasure seeing your progress bit by bit to completion.

If a Capri 2.8 is really what you want I saw this buying guide that might have some good info.

actually i came back from the classic bike show this weekend and the car i was after has sold. Just as well i suppose , as i have really got back into my sceptre! so no more capri's i am sticking with the humber

i had a fuel blockage problem , but that is sorted now and it runs superbly. i am going to put a few lasts new bits on, and it will be ready for next summer.
