Can any one advise on what had gasket is fitted to a 1725 cc humber engine 1966 mk11 with alloy head.

Hi there, you can look for on ebay classic cars parts ( hillman, humber, sunbeam), good price, and good items.

i replaced my head gasket on a mark 1 last year. the parts are readily available from alpine west midlands or speedy spares. Ive seen loads available at autojumbles aswell.

I am trying to find out which type of gasket is fitted as i have got 2 different types

The correct original gasket for all alloy headed engines is the steel - asbestos - copper sandwich. Engines with cast iron heads were fitted with a simple varnished steel pressing. Hope this helps. If you need clarification of exact part no.s, let me know. Regards - Neil
