Hi Everyone
I have just bought a 1967 Alpine, but the engine is not from an Alpine, my research suggests that it is for a Minx between 1967 and 1969
The information I found stated that early engines were 1500 and later were 1725
The engine number is B011033803 – HS – HSO
Could anyone please confirm what engine is in my Alpine?
Thank you
Tony

Re: Alpine with Minx Engine
Problem solved
I joined the Sunbeam Alpine Owners Club and the Member's Handbook lists every Rootes engine number
Had it been B01 with 7 digits it would have been for the Minx IIIb Special with a 3.11" bore 3 bearing 1494 cc 91.2 c.i
However, as it is B01 with 9 digits, it is for Minx (Arrow) with a 3.21" bore 5 bearing 1724cc 105 c.i., which is great news
Thank you to anyone who has been trying to resolve this for me
Have a great weekend all

Clarifying questions.
I’m considering whether to cover multiple topics, since the prompt mentions “some” which suggests a plural approach. But then it also uses “some unusual and provocative question” in the singular form, which feels a bit ambiguous. I wonder if it’s asking for several questions or just one. Maybe I should explore a few unusual questions to meet the intent better? There’s definitely a lot to unpack here!Crafting a Rootes question
