Hi, I'm new to the forum and have just read your query on fuel consuption for the MK2.
My Sceptre, which is a automatic, returned a miserly 23mpg. As a frugal Scotsman I disconnected the kick-down from the twin choke Solex carb and the car ran perfectly well - albiet a little more sedately - returning 33mpg.
All the best.

I used to get about 25/27 in my mk2 on a run and 19/20 around town I think. Tried to find my old WSM for it but can't but then it was nearly 30 years ago I had it!

Re: fuel consumption
I have a 1966 Humber Sceptre MK2 manual with over-drive. I used to get between 17-30mpg (depending where I was driving) with my tired 1725 engine that had only 68bhp (pre engine conversion). But I also had to add Redex lead replacement additive (£8.00 a bottle). So that must be part of the equation.
I've since converted my original engine to Holbay fast road specifications, with Holbay Head with hardened valves, Fast-Road Cam, Flat-Top Pistons, Twin Webers, K&N Air Filters, Lightened flywheel, uprated distributor. So unleaded petrol only, although I always put the high rated 98 RON Shell Optimax), 99 RON (Tesco's Super Unleaded), but prefer 102 RON (BP Ultimate).
I'm yet to work out how much I get now, but it's not fully bedded in. I've only done 250 miles in it, and I've yet to go on a long straight run to fully test it. I will get back with the results as soon as I know. I'm hoping it's around
