I believe only the series 2 had a ballast regulator along side the coil. I was wondering if I could answer my previous message by asking for photos instead.

Thanks anyway.

OK, sorry the pic was no help, but if you find that the carb is the cause of your lumpy running problem then these people do a very good refurb job on the solex (I got mine done by them)

............regards, Jack.

I've used that firm with mixed results. They reconed a Zenith and i fitted it on,the sun shone on the bowl of the carb and i could see petrol. The petrol was leaking through the wall of the float chamber!I phoned them and explained, they said "thats never happened before" When they degrease the carbs i think get soaked in trico whats is name. This must have sorted out the weak point.Anyhow i sent it back (which i had to pay for) with a big X where the hole was.

On another Mk2 i decided to fit a webber so i sent it off to them. When i fitted the carb i just couldn't get it run right,so i took it to a garage. He said that he had to change the jets around because they were in the wrong holes.
