Hi Guys,
I hav recently aquired a 1965 Mk1 in nice condition but it has some odd electrical faults...
The rev counter reads approximately double what it should
The fuel and temp guages dont read at all...
I have already changed the control box as that had rusted the resistor contacts at the back and cleaning them didnt restore normal operation as the Ammeter was always negative and wasnt charging the battery.
Its still on pos earth...
Should my Ammeter be a Jaeger like the other instruments as its a lucas in mine...???
I know, so many q's but thanks for reading and I am looking forward to getting it through its MOT
It needs an exhaust for the MOT as far as I can tell so far, and a radiator as this one is leaking....
Does anyone have a decent letter H for the bootlid? Also any decent door handles as mine are very badly pitted..
Does anyone know what radios were offered as original fitment? I know they are Pye, Radiomobile and Ekco but which models.?
Thanks
Andi

Im pretty sure the ammeter in my uncles 63 is a Lucas unit and as far as I know the guages in it are all original. It also had an original ecko valve radio fitted which Im pretty sure was the right one, I can take a picture at some point for you if you want. I dont know about the rad or H but I think there is some half decent handles on some of the doors in the garage although getting them off could be a problem. Ill check it out with my uncle and get back to you.

Yes please to the pics of the radio, the handles would be great too, I have also just discovered I also need a fuel tank sender and the radio speaker is also missing, also the clock is missing

I have now got a radio for her, its a Pye 2 in 1 from 1963. Its a pull out one with a backup battery for use on picnics etc... All works too..
Does anyone have a complete glovebox light or an original gear knob with reverse at the right?
Regards
