Hi all, newbie here... a couple of months ago I bought a 1968 MK3 Sceptre auto, having owned a MK1 and 2 in the past. the problem I have is that with the accelerator pedal fully depressed, I'm only getting about 1/2 throttle at the carbs, even with the cable at the limit of it's adjustment. This means I get no 'kickdown' on the auto box. Looking at the pedal ('organ' type) it seems that it would be impossible get full throtte with the current set up. Is there anyone in the Leicester area (or maybe even further afield) with a MK3 auto (with working kickdown!) who could let me have a look at their car, to get an idea what the problem is?
(TBH, I'm tempted to junk the current set up and fit a top hinged pedal and a different cable...)
