on ebay a few months ago there was a maroon mark 2 fitted with a perkins diesel engine???
just wondered if any of you ebay watchers had saved the pictures off the listing as I went to look at a purple sceptre the other week to replace the large ghap left in my life by Myn going to a new home.. and it had a perkins in. (not finished conversion though... not by a long shot)
does anyone remember ????

Hi Nick,
I ,vaguely,remember an ebay auction along those lines but,more importantly,i hope Myn has gone to a good home.
How did things work out with the transistorized ignition kit from Maplins?.Have bought one but need the time to fit it.

the sale of Myn???
nope fell through so shes still here... thought I had a good deal too, px with a daf 46 with long tax and test and some money, so left me still with a car and some cash for the bank.. but hey thats how the cookie crumbles..
shes back together after her recent headgasket job, on the drive to the mother in laws she was awsome, never got above 85 deg on the gauge, even pulled up Fish hill still in OD4, wife in follow car was left well in my mirror and I wasnt pushing her hard at all.. forgot just how awsome a sweet running mk2 could be. cant wait to get her strombergs built now.. got the overhaul kit here ready and the carbs , they even have rod linkage on them so should be straight fit, got choice of two manifolds though, one is canted and one isnt.. so presuming the carbs should be level.. maybe one is a sunbeam manifold ???
Moo is fine, a sofa hogger and can snore for england.....
maplins kit has been faultless.. although I have had more issues with dirty points since.. maybe without the big volts to clean them they dirty up a touch quicker.. but twice ive broken down with dirty points.. keep a nail cleaning board in the glovebox now (like women use?? looks like lollypop stick but with emery on)
